Our Family Medicine
A Family Physician treats all aspects of general medicine, with some additional competencies learned during his specialty training. This includes ENT, dermatology, urology, psychiatry, Obstetrics & Gynecology, ophthalmology, as well as Internal medicine, general and orthopedic surgery.
A Family Medicine physician deals with patients’ medical/health problems by referring to their history and carrying out diagnosis, investigations, treatment, and referral as appropriate. But he also deals with patients as members of a family as an entity. This family cluster approach helps to identify specific pathologies, transmitted, or hereditary disease.
List of services that can now be provided in Healthway Medical Center:
- Treatment of Chronic diseases: e.g., Diabetes, Asthma, Hypertension, and their complications.
- Treatment of acute or urgent diseases as a first-line.
- Treatment of orthopedic issues: Osteo-Arthritis, gout, minor trauma.
- Preventative medicine with “Weqaya” (free for Thiqa patients).
- Vaccinations for both patient suffering from chronic diseases, before Influenza season, patients preparing for travel…
